UPDATE: Inter RAO launches 36 bln rbl Pregolskaya thermal plant in Kaliningrad

KALININGRAD, Mar 6 (PRIME) -- Russian power holding Inter RAO on Wednesday fully launched the 36 billion ruble, 455.2-megawatt (MW) Pregolskaya thermal power plant in Kaliningrad.
The facility comprised of four 113.8-MW gas-vapor units was built by Kaliningrad Generation, a joint venture of Inter RAO and Rosneftegaz.
Construction of the plant is in line with a project to raise energy independence of the Kaliningrad Region. Kaliningrad Generation already launched the Mayakovskaya and Talakovskaya thermal power plants in the region in March 2018. The launch of the coal-fired Primorskaya plant is scheduled for 2020. Rosneftegaz acts as investor in the project having allocated 100 billion rubles, while Inter RAO will be the operator of the plants.
